On June 28, 2007, Spreadtrum Communications Incorporated (“Spreadtrum”) was successfully listed on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange in the United States. During the first trading day, the share price of Spreadtrum surged to a high of USD17, finally closing in at USD15.95; overall increases in stock prices reached 13.93%, while capital totaled USD 124,000,000. Spreadtrum is a developer of TD-SCDMA chips, in compliance with China’s 3G telecommunications standard, and it has become the first Chinese stock within the group of “China Concept Stocks” to enter the U.S. market. The company’s main underwriters include Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers. The successful completion of this case, both the preparation and listing, relied heavily on the hard work of Jun He lawyers and administrative staff. In this case, Jun He’s involvement was led by Cui Lixin, a partner in the Beijing office. In addition, special recognition should be given to Zhang Ying and Jiao Jiao for their enthusiasm and dedication to the case. While it is impossible to list every person in the Shanghai and Beijing offices who have assisted in this case, the following persons should be recognized for their contribution: Zhang Jing, Li Jing, Cui Bing, Lu Yang, He Kan, Li Yao, Ren Dong, Ding Weili, and Sun Jiangang.
