Law Awards, Gao Yang’s careful
management has seen the Shanghai
firm boost its headcount significantly
in 2006 and challenge the dominance
of the Beijing firms. The year 2006 was always going to be
an important one for Wang Junfeng
following the departure of Handel
Lee in 2005. A dramatic boost to the
firm’s headcount combined with some
very impressive mandates suggest he
has passed with flying colours. He
is also credited with being the drive
behind the setting up of the firm’s true
partnership structure. Chairman of
the management committee of King &
Wood, Wang is also one of the firm’s
key rainmakers having led the team
advising the issuer on the IPO of ICBC.
